About

Dan Loudfoot Simonds was born and raised in Norwich Connecticut, he is a member of the Simonds family of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation dating back to the 1858 census and prior to that date. After graduating from Massachusetts College of Art in Boston with his BFA in 2003 he went on to Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and received his MFA in Studio Art in 2009.  Dan has now re-located to be with his wife and baby in the wild west.

WAMPUM WEAR Was started by Dan Loudfoot-Simonds in the Summer of 2009.

 

 

"Creating Wampum is the same as creating a painting or any other work of art.  I create Wampum because it is a traditional art to my tribe the Mashantucket Pequots and has been for thousands of years,  it is a tradition that I hope to pass on for generations to come!"
